About
Hello, my name is Betty!
I am a hobby game developer and professional software developer.
I love the technical side of things and writing about it, but also love the designing process.
One of my first games was made in around 2009, using Java 2D. From there I continued to use different frameworks and engines to make games, such as JMonkeyEngine, LibGDX and Unreal Engine. I’m a firm believer and practitioner in/of self-improvement who learns quickly, so acquiring soft skills or technical knowledge is easy for me.
Game Development as hobby goes back to the year 2007. Back then, I taught myself the programming language Pascal for modding a (now discontinued) fan game of the X-COM series. This happened at the tender age of 17.
Since then I found passion and enjoyment in development and programming and thus wanted to master it as a craft. This lead me to a Software Development career later on in my life.
In my freetime I love to play badminton and am a jack of all trades. Name any craft – There is a chance I’ve done it: painting, composing music, woodworking, bookbinding… The crafts I cannot do become less every day.
